As everyone knows, it is a lot easier to gain waistline inches than it is to lose waistline inches. While there are many crash diets around and they can help you to lose weight temporarily, it is great to realize that these are really bad to your body and weight loss efforts in the long run.
If you occupy in too many crash diets, your body metabolism goes off kilter and slows down, making it easier to gain weight and harder to lose it in the future.
The better way to lose waist inches is to live a healthy lifestyle and eat healthy food. If you are dieting, you will want to cut down on the carbohydrates you eat, but by none ways should you cut them entirely out of your diet.
Instead, eat healthy, whole grain carbohydrates such as baked potatoes, brown rice and brown bread. You may also need to reduce back on your consumption of meat, red meats in particular. Fish is excellent for your health and is not near as fattening as a piece of steak. Chicken and red meats should be eaten in moderation.
Fruits and vegetables can also help you to lose weight. In fact, a healthy diet should consist of 60% fruits and vegetables. These can be eaten in a number of ways—fruits can be turned into a fruit salad or juiced at home. Many people also juice vegetables as well, and vegetables can also be cooked or eaten raw in a salad.
Water is very important to weight loss as well. You should drink at least 8 cups of water a day. Not only does water help to clear out the toxins in your body, but it is also helps you to fill up during the day, when you might another be tempted to grab a soft drink or beer.
Exercise is vital if you want to not only lose weight inches but also keep them off. Choose a form of exercise that you enjoy and start slowly. Many people who want to lose inches off their waistline focus only on abs exercises, but this is not needed or even the best approaching to overall weight loss.
The key is to exercise consistently--ever day is ideal but if you are not able to exercise daily then at least commit to doing so several times a week.
